IHRAF Youth Film Festival
The International Human Rights Art Festival’s Youth Film Festival calls for videos and films concerning any activist or social concern. Filmmakers must be 21 or under at the time the film is made. Send submissions through Film Freeway. Deadline: June 1, 2021.
The International Human Rights Art Festival (IHRAF) announces the creation of this new film festival, celebrating youth voices and their perspectives and hopes for the present and future. We are looking for works which explore a current social concern, based in our signature values of beauty, sincerity, vulnerability and celebrating diversity.
All films will be shown in the Gem Theater, Bethel, ME on August 27, 2021. A digital panel discussion will be held with the three monetary winners during the event.
Awards & Prizes
Awards are as follows:
First Prize: $150
Second Prize: $100
Third Prize: $50
Honorable Mention: 5 more filmmakers will have their work featured at the film festival
Rules & Terms
Filmmakers must present proof that they were 21 or younger at the time of the film's creation. The work may be in any format (i.e., documentary, narrative, animated, etc.), but must concern a pressing and ongoing social concern. The piece may not be based in anger, nor cast aspersions on any ethnic, religious, social, national or other group of people. The piece must be based in the IHRAF signature values of beauty, truth, sincerity, vulnerability and celebrating diversity. Length may be from 1-90 minutes.
