Twisha Patel, Canada, The Dead Frog in My Garden

Twisha Patel (they/them) is a digital and traditional artist and writer influenced by creating artworks infused with emotion. Their practice aims to represent intersectionality of gender, race, sexuality and/or disability through illustration and written works. Within each media piece, Twisha hopes to elicit a connection between the viewer and themself. As they believe that creative mediums contribute greatly to collective action.

"As an intersectional artist, to view the world without a critical lense would be unrealistic. My existence is political, therefore my craft is political."

Jozsef Cariste, Philippines, Between Onlys and Somewheres

Anjoe Vilicario, who writes under the pen name Jozsef, is a writer from Moalboal, Philippines. He began his writing journey during the 2020 pandemic. Jozsef’s writing is deeply rooted in his lived experiences, reflecting the rhythms of countryside life and giving voice to the struggles of the working class that raised him. His pieces often resonate with themes of love, longing, and the profound intricacies of human connection.

"Creative expression gives me a way to shape personal truth into something that resonates with the truth of the masses, the very people who keep society working. Bringing that voice into social-justice writing helps me share stories that are often neglected and left on the side."
