Tom Block
Executive Publishing Director
Tom is a 50-times produced playwright, author of thirteen books, and 25+ year exhibiting visual artist. He has had his plays produced, shown his artwork and spoken about his ideas throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Turkey, and the Middle East. Tom founded the International Human Rights Art Festival at Dixon Place (NYC) in March 2017. tomblock.com

Lisa Zammit

Lisa spends her time reading and dreaming when she's not designing funky graphics. Originally from a small island called Malta, she’s lived in Scotland and the Netherlands — Lisa believes that travelling is important in learning what the world has to offer. She values expressing one's voice boldly and honestly, because ultimately there's no other way we can be more authentic as humans. She hopes to continue helping people globally spread their stories and creating a colourful space.

Anne Look
Associate Editor
Born and raised in the United States, Anne has called different international cities ‘home’ for the better part of the past eight years. In 2017, she moved to Montréal to complete her undergraduate studies at McGill University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology. In 2022, she moved to Scotland to pursue her Master of Letters in Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling. Currently residing in Edinburgh, Anne can often be found facilitating creative writing workshops for a local charity dedicated to improving children’s literacy across Scotland.

Viola Vercelli
IHRAM Press Volunteer Reader
Viola is an MSc Global Migration graduate from University College London, a writer, and an artivist. Originally from Genoa, Italy, she lives in Glasgow, London, and Edinburgh. Her research at the French-Italian border explored transformative and creative knowledge co-production in counterspaces, advocating for freedom of movement and expression. Viola is also an aspiring author of feminist, decolonial speculative fiction and co-founder of the magazine ros•marinus.

Ashley Durrer
Volunteer Marketing Assistant
Ashley Durrer is an alum of Northeastern University, BFA, with a Business Minor. From 2014 to 2025, she spent 10 years focused on paid social media marketing, email marketing, website optimization, content creation, and SEO. She helped build The Midlist Newsletter, which was sold to HarperCollins Publishers. Notably,she has worked on promotions for World Anemia Awareness, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars spin-off stories to expand their consumer audiences.

Fernanda is a Chicana User Experience Designer with a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction and 5 years of experience. She designs for the human experience, blending design and empathy to create accessible, meaningful solutions that foster connection, equity, and belonging. Guided by her advocacy for human rights and immigrant rights, Fernanda is passionate about amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and using her designs to create lasting impact.

Hafsa Hassan is a writer from Pakistan and an MLitt Publishing Studies student at the University of Stirling, Scotland, supported by the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship. With experience across editorial and content writing, she is keen to explore underrepresented South Asian voices and contribute to more inclusive, accessible literary spaces.

Campbell Macknight
Volunteer Proofreader & Reviewer
Malta-based, dual Australian-French national Campbell has 20 years' professional experience in both government and the United Nations related to human rights, migration and forced displacement, international criminal law, asylum law and policy, humanitarian coordination in situations of conflict, refugee resettlement, child protection, family reunification and biometric identity management. Academic and personal interests extend to Philosophy, Literature, and Australian Football.

Madelene Mansson
Design Intern
Madelene, originally from a small town recognised as ‘’Sweden’s most boring,’’ is an MLitt Publishing Studies student at the University of Stirling and a visual art enthusiast. She usually works across traditional mediums, but has temporarily abandoned oils and acrylics for digital media – bringing her iPad everywhere she goes. Across her work she is drawn to nature, details and their symbolism, and she is currently IHRAM Press’ design intern.

Part-time poet, full-time strategist, and a relentless advocate for high-impact brand communication. At 18, Aashi Shukla is a humanitarian-driven creative from India who knows that while a poem can move a heart, a strategy can move a system. Treating storytelling like a chess move, she explores the complexities of identity and power to ensure the right voices actually get loud. She’s here to show that deep social resonance and an empathetic strategy aren't just compatible—they’re inseparable.
