Never Again: Remembering to Heal and Overcome (Hear the Voices)
Yahad-in Unum Mid-America is honored to partner with the International Human Rights Art Movement to pres- ent this collection, the culmination of our five years of producing the Art of Unity Creative Award in conjunction with them. Yahad-in Unum’s mission to educate so that we can move beyond ethnic and religious hatred, culminating in genocide, fits in with the International Human Rights Art Movement’s (IHRAM) mission to heal the world through the light of creativity.
Over the past five years, we have received more than 1,300 sub- missions from all four corners of the globe on the theme of “Never Again: Remembering to Heal and Overcome.” These pieces have moved beyond hatred toward regeneration and understanding.
This year’s works—two prize winners, and two dozen hon- orable mentions, culled from more than 500 submissions from 80+ countries, answer the call to use individuals’ creativity to tikkun olam, the Jewish admonition to heal the world.
